May Favourites

This month has just been...a rollercoaster, the ups of which were:
  1. Cap Am, which, I stand by my view, was not a great movie, though I guess it was a good enough one, and yummy Andhra lunch and keeping Doobie around and dancing in the dark to this and this and this and basically being the most stereotypical girl there can be.
  2. Pigging out at the local McDonald's when I should have been working.
  3. Auto rides in gorgeous weather, and feeling the breeze on my face.
  4. JAMUN.
  5. The calm which comes with routine (in this case, a skincare routine, which is unfortunately the only routine in my life at the moment).
  6. A functioning skincare routine!
  7. Fixing my panda eye mask issue! I love the mask, but the bands were too tight and were supposed to go around my ears, which basically ended up being a recipe for headache. I attached a ribbon to both bands, to pull around my head, and now it's perfect.
  8. The weather FINALLY becoming beautiful again. Hello, pre-monsoon gorgeousness.
  9. Fresh, clean bedding.
  10. At some point I will stop saying this, but - laundry. The smell of fabric softener all through my room. Waking up and getting rid of morning grumpiness with the pleasure of folding clothes.
  11. Subway!!!! Twice!!!!!
  12. The amazing support of Nyancat, Marshmallow, Cookie and Jackass as I whined my way through an essay.
  13. The brief but beautiful return of Nyancat.
  14. The Importance of Being Earnest and talented cat-friends, and dinner at my favourite mall with lovely people and a very understanding, very wise, very lovely jackass. Waffles with the works (i.e nutella and ice cream and chocolate sauce and other pieces of heaven I don't even remember). <3
  15. Free fancy food and tonic for the soul, and the most relaxed I've been with friends for a long while. Thanks, Nyancat and Kingsley.
  16. Shopping. I know I'd vowed not to shop for another year, but that skirt was gorgeous, I own nothing else like it, I have clothes and shoes and accessories to go with it, and, most importantly, even my mother told me to buy it, and I couldn't say no to my mother, could I? (She hated the heels, but I'd already bought them by then, so...oops.) Also, it ties in with my present philosophy of things I love when I see them, instead of setting aside a specific day or time for shopping and then buying things I don't completely love just because I need to birthday shop.
  17. Those fries at Chilis. Also, the nachos. Also, the barbecue sauce. Also, the namkeen-y rice bowl.
  18. Living the cliche. Street food, and being adorable, and trying to fit the largest gol gappa on the planet into my mouth in one go. Balloons and bubble-makers. Ice-gola! Love.
  19. Lying under the stars on the basketball court, just talking and listening and breathing.
  20. Cookie.
Love,
~Sam

May Favourites

I will not be late this time. I will not be late this time. I will not be late this time.
I AM NOT LATE THIS TIME. :D

  1. The Photograph video. The expression and feelings I had watching this will probably only be repeated when I'm watching my own child take her first steps.
  2. Doobie. Idk if you read this,  and I've told you irl, but thank you for being in my life, okay? Now go work, bye.
  3. That questionnaire. (Okay, I wrote this at some point at the beginning of the month and now I have no idea what I was referring to.)
  4. Writing! And rereading some of my old stuff, and actually liking parts of it.
  5. Kintsugi. The lyrics and the music and the voice and my state of mind just blended in together to make one of the most beautiful listening experiences I've had in a while.
  6. Cleaning and listening to more beautiful music
  7. 20.05.15. Going to the cute pizza place with amazing pizza and a furry carpet of a pet dog, getting drenched in the rain and clinging to sanity by discussing in great detail the plot of Race Gurram, cleaning the entire room and getting that lovely letter from Doobie.
  8. This epic wordplay in one of my papers, about how the prima facie standard seems quite low on the face of it. That entire paper, actually, maybe.
  9. A, and breakfast and books and coffee and clothes, and a lovely day.
  10. Pretty clothes! Formal skirts and blouses!!
  11. Mum.
Now I'm going to go back to ignoring the soft pleas of my beautiful unread novels, and try to get some work done. Wish me luck.

April and May favorites

These two months were pretty dull because I had exams in April and May was just hot man. It's too hot here in Hyderabad. So once again I am combining two months in one favorites.

1. The Air Conditioner- I am so so so thankful to my AC, because I honestly would have died without it.
2. My Bed. I am not even exaggerating if I say I spend 23.5 hours a day on my bed. I sleep in it, sit(more like slouch in it) when I'm on the laptop or reading and that's basically it. That is all that I am doing right now.
3. Shorts and those pants which are ultimately breezy. I can't with jeans and skinnies right now. I just can't.

Well that's about it.

May Favourites!

1. I'm living up to at least some of my resolutions! Yay!
2. Eleanor and Park. It was beautiful.
3. Finally figuring out that, as per Pottermore, I'm a Hufflepuff with a hard ash wand, unicorn core, ten and three-fourth inches. And a Siamese cat as a pet! YAY! ^_^
4. A bunch of Americans have come over for their summer program. Hanging out with them (and missing classes, heehee) has been so awesome!
5. Food and dressing up. Always amazing.
6. Hannibal (the TV show). So disturbing, but so good.

Feeling like exclamations,
~Sam!
