Dear Environment People,

Who do you think you're kidding? No, really. You think you can convince us to go out and look for jute bags when we have plastic right in front of us, to give $5 to Greenpeace instead of buying diamonds, to think about 50 years from now instead of tonight?

Dream on.

Have you even thought about what you're dealing with?

We're the race who needs to be threatened with punitive action to follow even the simplest rules-meant to protect our own lives-and even that we don't always do. Why would we care to fulfill voluntary agreements?

We're the race who skips red lights because reaching a meeting in time is more important than the prospective loss of lives of half a dozen people. Why would we care about the consequences of brushing with the tap on?

We're the race who spends more each year on war than on welfare. Why would we try to save?

We're the race who votes people into power and forgets all about the bigger picture for the next 4 years. Why would we take any responsibility on ourselves, when we can foist it off on them?

We're the race who doesn't study until the night before the exam. Why would we think about the long-term?

We're the race who lies, steals, and kills.
We're the race on top of the evolutionary pyramid.
And we're the race who doesn't care.

So stop wasting your breath. It won't make a difference. We all know all the things that are going wrong, whats going to happen-we're all aware enough. We just don't care.

Because who would rather think about the life of their future grandkids than their next date?

~Sam

PS: Because it apparently wasn't obvious enough-the above post is 100% sarcastic. I strongly believe in being eco-friendly and the above post was just me venting about how much people seem to say and how little do.

Also, because I loved the way that the person who commented below phrased this:

"If you say you shouldn't care about the future, and live in the present-blah. Just blah. If you believe that, then why exactly are you studying to build a career? Why do you have insurance? Why do you dream about a perfect guy whom you would meet in the future?
I don't mean to offend. I just want to say-care for others. Stop and look around you once in a while. If everybody says, "Why should I do this," who would actually do it? Do your bit. Don't ignore it. Don't keep taunting nature. It will, one day, get tired.
Just care. You won't lose anything."

  1. Woah. wait a second dude. you're wrong. we should care about our environment.. you care more about your next date or your next generation? they are YOUR kids. would you say the very same thing after you have kids? ki why should i bother? wouldnt you then feel off about how the environment was so polluted that it was unsafe for your son/daughter to go do something that they want to?
if you dont take action now, who will? everyone keep throwing the responsibility off their shoulders? is that what we were taught? i thought everyone wanted to be responsible, bright, intelligent bla bla bla..
and a little five dollar bill wont kill you if you donate it.. a little five dollar bill wont get you a diamond right now unless and ofcourse you find someone so dumb that they'd actually sell it to you for that much.. and im pretty sure nobody's that lucky so let's just move on..
.. to the bags.. duuude. srsly. cloth bags are better plus they look more stylish.. buy a cloth bag.. it lasts longer.. it doesnt have to be jhute.. could be anything.. you can make one out of an old tshirt too.. plus you could always donate your bag. give it off to charity.. there is always someone who needs something more than we do.. well, generally atleast.. aaand would you prefer having so much garbage filled with nonbiodegradable plastic that you have no room to put it? wouldnt you then feel off? ki "why dint i do something when i could?"
and never forget.. you will be living in that future too.. so you dont have to do it for your kids.. do it for yourself.. if so much garbage was around an ooooold uncle or aunty they'd easily catch some disease.. and then immunity will decrease.. they have to keep visiting hospitals getting checkups.. god forbid all this though..
and if you wanna go all "they say you should live in the present, not the future" bla bla bla bla bla bla. srsly. just bla. if you believe that, then why exactly are you studying to build a career? why do you have insurance? why dream about a perfect guy who you would meet IN THE FUTURE? rofl..
i actually dint mean to offend you or anything.. i just wanted to say care for others. stop and look around you once in a while. if everybody go "why me? why should i do this?" then who would actually do it? do your bit. dont ignore it. dont keep taunting nature. it will, one day, get tired. and then god alone knows what will happen.. that is also bla bla bla only.. why think of all that when we have something positive to think about? just care. you wont lose anything.

  2. That is one LONG comment. =P
First up-I was being sarcastic. I obviously veiled it a little too well, or you didn't read it properly, so yeah. Chill. I didn't mean any of that personally. Just about what people do in general =P
Hahaha, you didn't offend me, because none of that applies to me anyway =) And hell yes, cloth bags ftw!

The next time you want to mess with someone's head, do your research. Also, when I said it was "sarcasm", that was not a justification, it was a clarification.

  4. blogger, Exactly. Go pick on blog posts which are more offensive than the environment. You need to sort out your priorities.
